LWID provides support service to the community including:
-
Drinking Water - City of Eskridge produces drinking water from Lake Wabaunsee. LWID purchases that water and delivers it to lake residents. Water is billed monthly. The annual Water Report can be found at "www.krwa.net/ccr/LakeWabaunsee"
-
Roads - LWID is responsible for the roads beginning at the East Bridge and continuing south and west to the spillway.
-
Sanitary Sewer - LWID provides a sanitary sewer system. If the red light on your control panel is lit, please contact the LWID office.
-
Trash Service - LWID offers weekly trash pickup for a monthly fee. Trash pickup day is Monday. A dump for tree limbs and leaves is located at the LWID site and is open M-F 8:00-4:30. Directors also have gate keys if you need weekend access.
We cannot accept - paint, chemicals, tires, or asbestos material.
If you have an old TV to dispose of please
check with the superintendent.
LWID Board of Directors meets monthly on the first Saturday (except when that Saturday falls on the first day of the month or on a holiday). Meetings begin at 8:30 am at the Lake Fire Station. Residents are welcome to attend.
The LWID Board consists of three property owners who are elected to serve two-year terms. LWID employs a full-time manager and another full-time employee who maintain the various systems, mow, process monthly billing and a variety of other tasks consistent with a small city.
Following World War II, Lake Wabaunsee saw an increase in the construction of cabins and homes. Eventually these property owners wanted better roads and in 1978 formed the Lake Wabaunsee Improvement District to make that happen. As the need for more amenities grew, LWID developed a plan to install a water system and sanitary sewer system.
LWID is the largest improvement district in the state of Kansas.
